Droitwich Spa Ravens 3 - 0 Redditch United Girls
After an impressive start from the visitors and an early save for Carys Budding on her debut Droitwich started to take control.
After 5 minutes a superb clearance from Emma Mcgory set Elizabeth free to play the ball into Katherine Byng allowing her to score her 5th goal in 4 games, from that point Droitwich never really looked back, the game continued to flow with excellent work from Elizabeth Daniels and also Hannah Evans in midfield.
Midway through the first half a great tackle from Mollie Billington allowed Katherine Byng once again to show her skill to put through Hannah Evans who saw her shot saved well by the Redditch keeper, however this just ensured that the Ravens continued the pressure on Redditch and it paid off as Katherine scored her second goal of the game after some good skill once again to shoot low past the keeper.
With half time approaching and the morning getting hotter it was decided to withdraw Elizabeth and Hannah and in came Ella Smart and Frankie Clarke, this did not change the pressure the Ravens applied to Redditch and as half time approached Droitwich should of been further in front with further efforts from Katherine and also Frankie.
At the start of the second half things continued as the first half with Droitwich on top for much of the game, Hannah Evans must of wondered what she had to do to score her first ever goal in the second half after 3 saves and hitting the cross bar, however all of the pressure paid off as Katherine scored her first hatrick to ensure that Droitwich came away with the points, close to the end Madeline Evans was introduced and linked up well with her sister Hannah to almost add to the scoring.
The game was closely watched by 2 injured Ravens Rebecca Finch and Elise Wheatley who never stopped cheering their side on.
The game finished 3-0 to the Ravens but much credit must go to a plucky Redditch side who never gave up.
